Contraindications

There are two types of contraindications:

General: We will not be able to give you a massage without prior confirmation from your GP, or, in the case of infection/fever, it goes away.

Local: You can still have a massage but the treatment will be adapted to work around the contraindication.

Here are some common general contraindications:

Cancer

Hemophilia

Blood diseases

Fever

Systemic infections (like cold or flu)

DVT (blood clots)

If you have any of these, either wait until you feel better (in the case of infection or fever) or double check with your GP.  If you're unsure, feel free to contact us to clarify.

Some common local contraindications:

Varicose veins

Osteoarthritis

Broken bones

Skin infections

Open wounds

If you think you may have a contraindication but aren't sure, get in touch and we will be happy to confirm for you.
